1. Overview
Aveho Solutions LLC (“Aveho,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a mobile application and related services that help households inventory, value, and allocate personal property during downsizing and estate transitions (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices and rights you have.
Aveho is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. See Section 12.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information generated by your use of the Service, and information from third-party services we use to operate the Service.
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: name, email address, and password (passwords are stored only as a one-way cryptographic hash — we cannot see or recover them).
- Event information: event name, event type (downsizing or estate), city, state, ZIP code, and timeline for the event.
- Guest information: names and (optionally) email addresses of people you invite to participate in an event. You are responsible for having the right to share this information with us.
- Item information: photos of household items, along with any notes, descriptions, condition assessments, or ratings you or your guests add.
- Communications: messages you send to our support team or to Ava, our in-app AI concierge.
2.2 Information Generated by Your Use of the Service
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, actions taken, timestamps, and similar activity records.
- Device and technical data: device type, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and approximate IP-based location.
- Diagnostic data: crash reports and performance logs used to diagnose and fix problems.
- In-app purchase records: when you purchase Aveho Plus, our payment processor returns a transaction receipt and an anonymized subscriber identifier. Aveho never receives your payment card number, bank account information, or full billing address.
2.3 Information From Third Parties
- Apple and Google: when you purchase Aveho Plus through the App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google confirms the purchase to us and returns a transaction receipt. We do not receive payment card details.
- Authentication providers (if applicable): if you sign in using a third-party identity provider, we receive the email address and basic profile information the provider shares with us.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and the events you organize or join.
- Process photos of household items using artificial intelligence to identify items, suggest descriptions, assess condition, and estimate value ranges (see Section 4).
- Enable guest invitations, item ratings, and the allocation engine that suggests how items are distributed.
- Send you in-app notifications, email notifications, and mobile push notifications related to your events and account.
- Deliver, maintain, and improve the Service, including fixing bugs and developing new features.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Aggregate and de-identify data for internal research and product improvement (see Section 7).
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.
4. How We Use Artificial Intelligence and What We Send to AI Providers
A central feature of Aveho is AI-powered item identification and valuation. Here is exactly how that works and what is shared with AI providers.
4.1 What is processed by AI
When you capture photos of items in a room, your device compresses the photos and uploads them to our secure cloud backend (Supabase). Our backend then sends the images to one or both of the following AI providers:
- Google (Gemini Flash) — performs the first-pass identification of each item.
- Anthropic (Claude) — performs a second-pass refinement for items flagged for deeper analysis, and powers the Ava in-app concierge.
4.2 What is not sent to AI providers
Before any image is transmitted to an AI provider, Aveho removes all embedded metadata from the image, including GPS coordinates, device identifiers, and capture timestamps (commonly called “EXIF” data). Additionally:
- No user ID, email address, name, or account identifier is included in the API call to the AI provider.
- No event name, location, or guest information is included in the API call.
- Only the image and a generic processing instruction are transmitted.
The AI provider returns a text description and suggested values, which our backend then stores in your event alongside the original image.
4.3 AI provider data handling
Both Google and Anthropic operate under commercial API terms that prohibit using API-submitted content to train their foundation models. You can review their terms here:
- Google Gemini API Terms: https://ai.google.dev/terms
- Anthropic Commercial Terms: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/commercial-terms
We rely on those contractual commitments, but we do not control the AI providers’ internal practices. If either provider changes its terms in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this Policy and notify you.
5. How We Share Information
We share personal information only as described below. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5.1 With other participants in your event
When you invite guests to an event, those guests can see: the event name, the photos and descriptions of items you publish, and the final allocation results. Guests cannot see each other’s individual ratings during the ratings window.
5.2 With service providers who operate the Service on our behalf
We use a small number of third-party service providers. Each is bound by contractual terms that require them to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us. The current list:
| Provider | Role | Data they receive |
| Supabase | Application backend, authentication, database, and file storage | All account, event, item, and photo data |
| Google (Gemini API) | First-pass AI item identification | Photos only, stripped of metadata, with no user identifiers |
| Anthropic (Claude API) | Second-pass AI identification; Ava concierge | Photos and item descriptions, with no user identifiers |
| Apple | In-app purchases (Aveho Plus) | Purchase receipt identifiers; Apple manages all payment details |
| Google Play | In-app purchases (Aveho Plus) | Purchase receipt identifiers; Google manages all payment details |
| RevenueCat | Subscription and entitlement management | Anonymous subscriber identifier linked to your Aveho account |
| Resend | Email delivery (guest invitations, notifications) | Recipient email address, your name, and event name |
| Expo | Mobile push notifications | Device push token and notification content |
| [Analytics/crash-reporting provider — to be specified before launch] | Crash reports and usage analytics | Diagnostic and usage data; no item photos |
5.3 For legal reasons
We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, court order, or government request, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Aveho, our users, or others. Where legally permitted, we will notify you before disclosure.
5.4 In connection with a business transaction
If Aveho is acquired, merged, or sells substantially all its assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring party. The acquiring party will be bound by this Policy, or you will be notified and given the opportunity to delete your account before the transfer takes effect.
6. Your Choices and Rights
6.1 Choices available to every user
- Access and correction: You can view and edit most of your account and event information directly in the app.
- Account deletion: You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account) or by emailing privacy@avehosolutions.com. See Section 7 for what happens to your data after deletion.
- Notification preferences: You can turn email notifications and push notifications on or off in the app’s settings.
- Camera and photo library access: You can revoke Aveho’s access to your camera or photo library at any time through your device’s operating system settings. Doing so will disable the photo capture feature.
6.2 Rights under U.S. state privacy laws
If you are a resident of California, Minnesota, or another U.S. state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you have additional rights, which may include:
- The right to know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use and share it.
- The right to request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- The right to request deletion of your personal information.
- The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (Aveho does not sell or share personal information, so no action is needed).
- The right to opt out of profiling used to make significant decisions about you (Aveho does not engage in such profiling).
- The right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@avehosolutions.com. We will respond within the period required by applicable law (generally 45 days). We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
6.3 Research participation
By default, any data Aveho retains beyond your use of the Service is retained only in aggregated or statistical form (for example, “the average kitchen contains 47 items”). If we offer you an opportunity to contribute de-identified event-level data to Aveho’s product research, participation will be strictly opt-in. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing privacy@avehosolutions.com.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
- While your account is active: We retain your account, event, item, and photo data so you can continue to use the Service.
- When you delete your account: Within 30 days of your deletion request, we permanently delete or fully de-identify your account information, event data, item data, and photos from our production systems. Copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to an additional 90 days before automatic rotation deletes them.
- Aggregate research data: After deletion or account closure, we may retain aggregate statistical data (counts, averages, category distributions) that does not identify you or your household. This aggregate data does not contain photos or item-level records.
- Legal holds: If we are legally required to retain specific data (for example, to respond to a subpoena or a tax audit), we will retain only what the law requires, and we will delete it when the legal basis ends.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption in transit: all data moving between your device and our backend is encrypted using industry-standard TLS.
- Encryption at rest: data stored in our backend database and file storage is encrypted at rest.
- Access controls: access to production systems is limited to authorized personnel, protected by multi-factor authentication, and logged.
- Row-level security: our database enforces policies so that users can only read and write their own data.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.
9. International Users
Aveho is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, and processed in, the United States, which may have data protection laws that differ from the laws in your country. Aveho does not currently target or market the Service to users outside the United States.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may contain links to websites or resources operated by third parties (for example, donation centers or recycling partners introduced in future releases). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing information with them.
11. Do Not Track
Some browsers and mobile operating systems offer a “Do Not Track” or similar signal. Because there is no industry consensus on how to interpret these signals, Aveho does not respond to them. We do not engage in tracking across third-party websites or apps, so a DNT signal would have no practical effect on our practices.
12. Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended only for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact privacy@avehosolutions.com and we will delete the information promptly.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by in-app notice, email, or another reasonable method at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was most recently revised. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
14. Governing Law
This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
